Inside Out by Bhavika Arora

I have seen sadness Be carried over for generations And it hides in plain sight In everything that makes me How I make friendships And how I deliver them How I love And how I slip lies How my parents are okay With a tiresome life And so are we Because, maybe That is how it’s supposed to be How private my life is, Is not really an everyday issue The way I do my hair Is not just my problem What I post on social media Becomes a talk in the family Compromise has taken A few new names Responsibility being one And the roles we are assigned Are striving to evolve Inside is, at least, a warmer place to be
